Brett Villaume, CMT, CAIA

Brett is Senior Vice President and Director of Investor Relations at Opus Bank, a regional bank headquartered in Irvine, CA.  Prior to this he was Vice President and Research Analyst with FIG Partners, a boutique broker/dealer specializing in Bank and Thrift equity investments. He has over 15 years of experience as a sell-side research analyst, working in both Technical and Fundamental analyst roles serving institutional clients.  Brett believes strongly in the value of a combined fundamental and technical approach to market and stock analysis. His work emphasizes relative strength and inter-market relationships.

Brett has also served as Adjunct Professor of Technical Analysis at Golden Gate University’s Ageno School of Business, where he taught both on-campus and online classes as part of GGU’s graduate level Certificate Program in Technical Analysis.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the CMT Association and as co-Chair of the CMT Los Angeles Chapter. Brett also serves on the Board of Directors of the Technical Analysis Educational Foundation (TAEF) and as Treasurer of the Technical Securities Analysts Association of San Francisco (TSAA-SF).

Brett has achieved the designations of Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). He received a bachelors degree in Economics from The University of Idaho.
